These boots are made for walkin'

5 miles today I think... hotel to work, (interrupted with metro ride to employer where I actually got my contract today!), employer to hotel and back, employer to Georgetown to my soon to be home in a 4 bedroom house, and back to my hotel. I got my USAID badge, a briefing on handling classified materials and managed to stay awake through the 3 hour briefing! Yes, it's hot in D.C. now but there is no better way to get to know the city but on foot. I passed at least 3 branches of Washington Sports club fitness centers, and restaurants including Indian, Thai, sushi, Ethiopian, Nepalese, and a bunch more standard fare. Got a nasty surprise when I signed my lease today I am charged $35 a day for any guest who stays more than 2 nights- HAVE YOU EVER heard of this? So, everyone is welcome to come... FOR THE WEEKEND ... just kidding, all are welcome as long as you want, as long as you can sleep on a mattress on the floor of my room! Yesterday, I fit in 2.5 hours at the Smithsonian Natural History Museum. The National Aquarium is 50 yards from where I work. I think I'll start working through all the Smithsonian museums on rainy days...
