1-0 Washington
The baseball team in the U.S. nation's capital held on to first place - So they are undefeated when I attend their games. They played again today and I couldn't attend and they lost. Sorry.
The day started at 5:30 a.m. with a $65 limo ride to Jax airport- and I MEAN a limo. For some reason they sent a stretch limo when I called the shuttle service. The air ticket to BWI - 1 hour, 50 minute flight - in Baltimore cost $58, less than the shuttle to the airport.
After waiting for a room to become available and checking into the hotel, I took the metro to join the DC Full Moon Hash House Harriers at Minnesota St Station - not a neighborhood to linger at in off hours. We had a run along some roads but mostly through the woods and brambles finally ending up at the back parking lot of RFK stadium where a 3 hour tailgate BBQ and party ensued until - well actually past - the first pitch of the Houston-Washington baseball game.
A friend gave me a ride home and a grand tour of D.C. at night past all the monuments and lit up buildings, though a few roads around the Supreme court were blocked (?) maybe since they are out of session...
D.C. is a grand city with wide streets, fabulous buildings and of course, the nightlife of Georgetown, to be my new home in a week. I stopped by my new house, and because of the late hour just peeped in the windows and saw a great new place to live.
